There Will Be No New Posts for a Little While

I’m going to be away from my computer for a little while, so there will be no new posts for a week to ten days.

For those wondering where my Dark Shadows post is, I did not like the film enough to recommend it to others.  I wrote some short comments in the main 2012 Big Summer movies post.

In the meantime, some of you have been reading my recommendations for quite some time, while others have found this site only recently.  To tide you over until I get back here are the categories I did in 2011.  You may find something among them to interest you.

2011 Big Summer Movies

  1. I'm gonna check some of those out during your absence. Sorry you disliked DS, let's hope the word of how much people are disappointed by it will reach Burton and he will start doing good movies again.

  3. Enjoy your break. Too bad about Dark Shadows... It makes me wonder if Tim Burton has another good movie in him.

  5. @Sati. - Thanks. From your other comments I see you did just that. Thanks for reading some of my earlier categories.

@3guys1movie - I suspect you are being facetious, but in case you were serious: getting away from the computer for a while was something I was looking forward to. I go on vacations to get out of my usual routine. My sister brought her laptop with her and was on Facebook most every day, just like she would have been if she had been home. I could have used her laptop to stay current here and on other sites, but I chose not to.

@Barry P. - Ever since 1994 I've liked/disliked every other Burton film. Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, Corpse Bride, and Alice in Wonderland go in the Like column and Mars Attacks, Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, and Dark Shadows go in the Dislike column. I consider Big Fish to be the last really good movie he made, though.

@Dawn - Thanks for your concern. I am fine. Sorry for any concern I may have caused (and in hindsight I can see how you might have thought that), but I was deliberately vague about being away from my house for vacation. It's an open invitation for anyone who comes across it, and knows where I live, to come steal everything in my house. Sometimes I will take a break from the computer, but still remain at home. I didn't want to specify which of those times this one was.
