I saw this video on TV over the last weekend and I thought it was just terrific. It is a montage of military members surprising their children, spouses, and parents that they are home. I don’t care what you may think of the military; this is about human beings. I try not to judge people I haven’t met, but if you are completely unmoved by this video then you must be dead inside.
Love these kinds of movies!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a news story that ran last Christmas. Before a dad left for deployment, he gave his daughter a heart key chain, and a matching one for himself. He said as long as we have our hearts, we have each other.
Fast forward a year later near Christmas, where the girl's second grade class was opening presents. The girl didn't want anything and didn't want to see Santa when he came in. The teacher urged her to talk to Santa. She finally went over to him and said, "I don't want any toys, all I want is my dad". Santa then pulled out from his pocket, the heart keychain! He took off his beard and it was her dad!!
Stories like these are so sweet. Thanks for posting this video.
I hadn't heard about that story. Thanks for sharing it.
DeleteHow sweet is that Chip? Thanks for the smile
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I just saw this video again on TV this morning. It must have proven to be very popular.
DeleteI love these videos but they always make me cry like a baby. With two boys having been in the military (one still full time) this was my reality for several years. Always so grateful when they came home safely. Thank you to all who serve and Happy 4th of July!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's one that will certainly make a person's eyes moist.
