I was surprised when I found it played out by Nick (he of Nick and Nora) when watching "After The Thin Man" (1936). I researched a but at the time and it is referred to earlier than this but not, I think, in film.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564277570960354470.post-2340208795618624802013-09-13T23:32:41.507-04:002013-09-13T23:32:41.507-04:00Your dad's got good taste. :-)

An example is the little girl throwing things in a well. When she runs out of stuff she asks what they should throw in next and the monster rolls his eyes like "you're making this too easy for me." I laughed when I saw it the first time, but now knowing that in the original movie the monster did throw a kid into a stream not realizing there was anything wrong with that now makes the joke even better.

Put. I never realized exactly how much Brooks took from those two films until I watched all three in a row. This ranks among Brooks's best films because he used broad comedy where he could, but also provided subtle tweaks to the original films getting additional laughs from people versed in the source material.

I was going to make cappuccino...SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564277570960354470.post-25553205285448364132013-09-05T19:33:33.856-04:002013-09-05T19:33:33.856-04:00Actually that story about Aerosmith was true. While I prefer Blazing Saddles, this film is still just as brilliant. What is there not to like about this film? thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.com
