I agree this has all those elements and they must be obvious because both of us picked up on them.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564277570960354470.post-51607611493993825702015-03-17T10:37:00.304-04:002015-03-17T10:37:00.304-04:00Three stars feels about right for this. My biggest issue with this was despite some good characters and beautiful animation, I feel like I'd seen all of this before.

In my own review of it, I called it one part superhero origin, one part nod to anime, one part Iron Giant and one part Scooby-Doo episode. There's also a little How to Train Your Dragon in it, sort of like a garnish. But it's a parfait of these ingredients, not a blend of them.

It's also worth noting (since this happens so rarely) that I said at the end of last November that it was likely to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature even if it didn't deserve it.

For my money, it's all about Baymax, who is the stand-out character.SJHoneywellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13550007053995112090noreply@blogger.com
